Suit Tailors in Four Cities, One Pattern

You have decided to have something made. The next question is where you actually go, and whether the answer changes if you move, travel or work somewhere else. Four rooms, one team of cutters, and a pattern that follows you.

Pick whichever room is easiest to reach and we will take it from there. The cloth and the cutter are the same in all of them.

Google rates us five stars across 145 reviews. Every visit is by appointment. Call 020 7167 3490 or book a visit.

First consultations are free, with no obligation to order.

Four Suit Tailors' Rooms You Can Walk Into

Every room does the same work: bespoke and made to measure suits, jackets, coats, shirts and eveningwear, for men and women, including the softer casual tailor pieces people increasingly ask for. Pick on convenience, because nothing else changes between them.

The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Chester Rd, Mere, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 6LJ

Lewis Calcutt runs it, and he started his career in Manchester at sixteen. It is off the M56 with parking at the door, which city centre rooms cannot offer. Our Cheshire studio serving Manchester has the detail.

Visit us in Zurich

The Risch Lounge, Grubenstrasse 45, 8045 Zürich, Switzerland

This is a standing room rather than a few dates in a diary, so you are not waiting for a visit to come round. Ian leads the Zurich book, and the room is shared with Risch Shoes, so a single visit can cover a suit and the shoes to wear with it. Our Zurich showroom at the Risch Lounge has more.

Visit us in New York

130 West 57th Street #5A, New York, NY 10019

The building is a known address for custom clothiers in Midtown, so if you are already visiting a tailor in New York you may well have been in the lift. Appointments are arranged directly. Our New York studio on West 57th Street has the detail.

Home, Office or Video, Wherever You Are

If none of the four rooms is convenient, a tailor comes to you. A tailor visiting your home or office sets out how that works.

Where Fielding & Nicholson Cuts and Fits

We are suit tailors with a flagship showroom at 35 Sackville Street in London, a studio at The Mere Golf Resort in Knutsford serving Manchester, a showroom at The Risch Lounge in Zürich, and a studio at 130 West 57th Street in New York.

Bespoke and made to measure, for men and women.

The same cutters work across all four rooms.

Clients wearing bespoke tailoring on a London street

Ian Fielding-Calcutt Has Led This Since 2006

Ian Fielding-Calcutt founded the business in 2006 and still cuts and consults himself, in London and in Zurich. Twenty years on, more than 10,000 garments have gone out and the Prestige Awards named the firm Top Tailor in London in 2025.

The rooms are in four cities but the people are one team. Whichever door you walk through, you are dealing with the same tailors and the same suit makers, not four separate businesses trading under one name.

Your Pattern Is Kept and It Travels

Your pattern is not tied to the room you started in. It is drafted at your first commission and held by the same team across all four cities, so a second order can begin wherever is convenient that year rather than wherever you happened to be the first time.

That matters more than it sounds if your life moves. A client who commissions in London and then relocates to New York picks up in the same place they left off, with the same measurements and the same notes about how they like a shoulder to sit.

It is also why we would rather you chose a custom tailor on the person than on the postcode.

The room can change later. The pattern does not.

What Happens at Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a conversation, not a sale. We ask where you will wear the garment, look at cloth together and agree a budget before anything is measured. It is free and nobody will push you.

If you decide to go ahead, measurements and posture are recorded and the pattern is drafted. A suit tailor will then see you two or three times before you collect. How the bespoke process works sets out all five stages.

How Booking and Timings Work

Most garments take six to eight weeks from first consultation to collection. Fittings are booked around your diary, so a fixed date needs a longer run-up than the making time alone suggests.

Every visit is by appointment, and that is not gatekeeping. Booking is what reserves the fitting room, the cloth books and your tailor for the whole session rather than for whoever walks in behind you.

If you are wondering where to get a suit tailored properly and what it costs, every collection and what each one costs sets out the full ladder.

Everything we make carries a five year guarantee that covers weight change.

You Are Choosing a Cutter, Not a City

Most people pick a tailor by looking at a map. It is the wrong first question.

The room is a room. What decides how a garment hangs is who drafts the pattern and how well they listen at the first appointment. Choose the person, then work out which of the four rooms is easiest to reach, and remember that the video consultation makes that a smaller question than it looks.

Book at the Showroom Nearest You

Whichever of the four you pick, you will get the same cutters, the same cloths and the same six to eight weeks. Suit tailors are worth choosing carefully, and an hour will tell you whether we are the right ones.
