What Separates Bespoke From Made to Measure
The words are not policed, so a suit sold as bespoke on a London high street may well be the second thing. There is a simple test. Ask whether you will see a try-on garment before the cloth is cut.

Bespoke
The Savile Row Bespoke Association sets fifty hours of hand work as the minimum for a suit to count as bespoke. Ours run past seventy-five.
Cheap suits use neither canvas. The front is glued, and after a few dry cleans it bubbles.
Raymond Chung Trained as a Cutter in Hong Kong
Born in Hong Kong, he began cutting very young, in one of the most demanding places in the world to learn it. Ask for him by name when you book, because who is holding the chalk matters more than any showroom fit-out.
He started the business in 2006 and was named one of the UK's top ten tailors in 2016. Twenty years on he still sees clients himself rather than leaving it to the diary.
More than twenty-five years in fashion, the last decade in bespoke. She cuts for women, men, non-binary and LGBTQ+ clients, for people with disabilities, and for bodies that standard blocks were never drawn for.
He started at sixteen and now looks after clients in Manchester, Cheshire, London and Zurich. Three piece and double breasted suits are the ones he is known for.

A fully bespoke two piece from the Gallery Collection starts at £2,500, and made to measure through the Icon Collection starts at £1,600. The gap between them is the pattern and the canvas, not the attention you get.
Cloth sets the rest of the price. A Gallery two piece runs from £2,500 up to £14,355 depending on the band you pick, and the make is identical at both ends.
Over 5,000 cloths are on the shelves, from British worsteds to cashmere and linen, and we are an official Dormeuil partner rather than simply a buyer of their cloth. Your tailor will steer you to the band that fits your budget before you fall for something above it.

Most Suits Are Ready in Six to Eight Weeks
Most bespoke suits take six to eight weeks from your first consultation to collection. Five stages get you there.
- 01 ConsultationYou tell us where you will wear it, and we look at cloth together and agree a budget. This one is free and there is no hard sell.
- 02 Measurements and patternYour measurements and posture are recorded, and a pattern is drafted for you alone.
- 03 Baste fittingYou try the suit while it is still loosely stitched, so the fit can be corrected before it is fully built.
- 04 Further fittingsMost clients need two to three fittings in total. Each one refines the balance and the detail.
- 05 Final fitting and collectionYou try the finished suit, we check it sits right, and it goes home with you.
Your suit fitting appointments are booked around your diary, including Saturdays.
Five Years of Cover, Including Weight Change
Every garment carries a five year guarantee against reasonable wear and tear, and that includes weight change.

Most people assume a suit that no longer fits is finished. It usually is not.
Put right. Weight loss or gain, an accidental tear, or superficial lining damage.
Outside the cover. Full relining, replacement panels, and garments beyond repair.
The conditions are short and we would rather you knew them now. Cover applies while you are an active client, meaning you have bought from us within the last twelve months. Garments need to be dry cleaned before they come in, and dropped at the showroom rather than posted.
Every Fitting Is Private and Booked Ahead
Every consultation and fitting at our London tailor showroom is booked in advance, and that is deliberate. Booking means the fitting room, the cloth books and your tailor belong to you for the session rather than to whoever walks in behind you.

Alterations to garments we made are handled at the showroom, and the work is priced before it starts. The same process runs across all four showrooms, in London, Cheshire, Zurich and New York, so a client who moves cities keeps their pattern.

How do you choose between tailors in London?
Ask three things: who drafts the pattern, whether you see a try-on garment before the cloth is cut, and what the guarantee actually covers. The best tailors in London will answer all three without hesitating. If nobody will talk about cloth before quoting you a price, ask why.
Do I need an appointment?

What if I cannot get to Mayfair?
A tailor can come to you at home or at your office across London and the Home Counties, or you can do the first consultation by video and come in only for fittings. Both use the same cloths and the same cutters as the showroom.
Can I bring my own cloth?
Raise it at the consultation. With over 5,000 cloths on the shelves, including our Dormeuil range, most people find what they want in the room. Cloth brought from elsewhere is looked at case by case, because we can only stand behind what we can vouch for.
What should I bring to a first appointment?
Nothing is required. If you own a jacket that fits the way you like, bring it, because showing us is faster than describing it. You do not need to know any cloth names or construction terms beforehand.
Do you alter suits made elsewhere?
Alterations work focuses on garments we made, and anything else is looked at case by case. Bring it to the showroom and we will tell you honestly whether the work is worth the money.
