    What is the Icon Collection?

    The Icon Collection is Fielding & Nicholson’s made to measure service for men and women. Each piece is cut from your own measurements, laser cut, finished with a half canvas chest piece and made in Portugal. Prices start from £1,600.

    • No limit on cloth or lining

      Many made to measure services keep you to a fixed range. Ours does not, so the choice is yours.

    • Half canvas, not fused

      The chest is built with stitched canvas rather than a glued layer, so it keeps its shape. You can see the difference just below.

    • A 5 year guarantee

      Every Icon piece is guaranteed for five years, because we are confident in how it is made.

    • Up to 3 alterations included

      If the fit needs adjusting after you have worn it, up to 3 alterations are included.

    Three ways to build a jacket

    The layer inside the front of a jacket decides how it holds its shape. Every Icon jacket is half canvas: stitched, not glued.

    • Fused

      Common in cheaper made to measure

      A glued layer stiffens the whole front. It is cheaper and quicker to make, but it can lose its shape over time.

    • Half canvas

      Every Icon Collection jacket

      Canvas is stitched in through the chest and lapel. The jacket holds its shape where it matters and stays light everywhere else.

    • Full canvas

      Every Gallery Collection jacket

      Canvas runs through the whole front, for the most shape and structure. This is how our fully bespoke jackets are made.

    There is no limit on cloth or lining. Your consultant helps you choose a cloth that suits how you will wear the piece, from something hardwearing for daily use to something lighter for warmer months.

    Measured by hand

    We take your measurements by hand at your consultation, never from a size chart. Your tailor also notes your posture and proportions, so the pattern is built around your body, not a standard size.

    From measuring to collection

    Most Icon pieces are ready 6 to 8 weeks after you are measured. Here is what happens along the way.

    1. Consultation

      Free, at a showroom, at your home or office, or by video. Tell us what you need.

    2. Measurements and cloth

      We measure you by hand, and you choose the cloth, lining and details.

    3. Made in Portugal

      Your piece is laser cut to your pattern and built with a half canvas chest piece.

    4. Fitting

      You try it on, and any adjustments are made on the day.

    5. Collection

      Ready to wear 6 to 8 weeks after measuring, with up to 3 alterations and a 5 year guarantee.

    What is the difference between made to measure and bespoke?

    Made to measure starts from your own measurements, applied to an existing pattern. Bespoke means the pattern itself is drawn and cut from scratch, with several fittings along the way. The Icon Collection is made to measure, and the Gallery Collection is fully bespoke.

    How much does the Icon Collection cost?

    Prices start from £1,600 and typically go up to £8,000, depending on the cloth and styling you choose. Prices include VAT, and every piece comes with up to 3 alterations and a 5 year guarantee.

    How long does an Icon piece take?

    Usually 6 to 8 weeks from measuring to collection. Icon pieces are laser cut and made in Portugal.

    Is the Icon Collection available for women as well as men?

    Yes. It is built around your own measurements and styling, so it works the same way for men and women.

    What is a half canvas chest piece?

    It is a layer of canvas stitched between the cloth and the lining through the chest and lapel, rather than glued in. This gives the jacket more shape and a longer life than a fused jacket.

    Can I choose my own cloth?

    Yes, with no limit on cloth or lining. Your consultant helps you choose a cloth that suits how you plan to wear the piece.

    What if the fit needs adjusting after I collect my piece?

    Up to 3 alterations are included. If the fit needs adjusting after your first wear, get in touch and we will sort it.

    Where can I be measured?

    At our showrooms in London, Manchester, Brighton, New York and Zurich. We can also visit your home or office, or start with a video call.
