How it works
From first conversation to finished garment. What happens at each stage and what to expect.

01The consultation
Your first visit takes about an hour. We talk about what you need and what you have in mind. Then we look at cloths, talk styles, and take your measurements. No pressure to decide on the spot. Some men know what they want. Others need help. Both are fine.

02Measurements
We take a full set of measurements: chest, waist, hips, shoulders, arms, back, and more. We check your posture and how you stand. These numbers give us what we need to build your pattern.

03Cloth selection
We carry cloths from Holland and Sherry, Dormeuil, Scabal, Loro Piana and more. Wools, linens, silks, cashmere, cotton, tweed, and tech cloths. Your tailor will bring samples and help you pick based on what you are making and when you will wear it.

04Fittings
Two to three fittings are normal. We check how the cloth sits and how the shape feels. Nothing leaves until we are both happy.

05Timeline
Most pieces take 6 to 8 weeks. Shirts are faster. Got a deadline? Talk to us. We can often speed things up.

We source from some of the best mills in the world. Holland and Sherry, Dormeuil, Scabal, and Loro Piana for suits and coats. Harris Tweed, Lovat, and Porter and Harding for country cloths. DJ Anderson, Thomas Mason, and Alumo for shirts. Your tailor will match the cloth to the job.

New to bespoke?
What to expect if you have never had anything tailored before, and the questions we are asked most.
Do I need to know anything about tailoring first?
No. You do not need to know cloth names or how a jacket is built. That is our job. You just need to know what the piece is for and a rough idea of what you want. No idea at all is also fine, and we will help you work it out.
Why choose bespoke over made-to-measure?
Bespoke means a pattern drawn from scratch for your body. Made-to-measure adjusts an existing pattern to fit your size. Both are better than off the peg, but bespoke gives you the closest fit and the most control over how the garment is built. We offer both, and your tailor will help you choose. What is the difference between a full canvas and a half canvas jacket?
The canvas is the inner layer between the cloth and the lining that gives a jacket its shape. A full canvas runs the whole length of the front, so the jacket moves with you and moulds to your chest over time. A half canvas stops around the chest and the lower front is fused instead. Full canvas takes longer to make and costs more, and it is what most people mean by a properly built jacket.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we work by appointment. That way your tailor has time to talk properly, show you cloth and take your measurements without rushing. Booking takes a minute and you can pick a time that suits you.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear what you like. Something close to the body helps with sizing, but it does not need to be smart. If you already own the shoes you plan to wear with the piece, bring them, because trouser length is set to the shoe.
How do I look after a bespoke suit?
Hang it on a shaped wooden hanger, rest it for a day between wears, and brush it down rather than dry cleaning it after every outing. Dry cleaning is harsh on wool, so save it for when the garment genuinely needs it. Our garment care guide covers this properly.

How much does it cost?
Price depends on the piece, the cloth and how the garment is built, so there is no single figure. We are happy to talk budgets at your first visit. There is no minimum spend and no hard sell. Most men start with one piece and come back for more. Our suit packages show the options available.
