What happens at your appointment

Knowing how it runs takes the guesswork out of booking. There are three stages, and you are in control of all of them.

    Choose a slot in the calendar above. A confirmation email arrives straight away. If you need to move it, please give us at least 48 hours notice.

  2. We talk it through

    Tell us what the garment is for and how you like to wear things. We will show you cloths and talk through the style and the details.

  3. You decide

    The consultation is free, so there is no pressure to order. If you do go ahead, we take your measurements and confirm everything in writing.

Before You Book

The practical questions people ask us before they pick a time, answered plainly.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your consultation is free, and there is nothing to pay for the appointment itself. You are welcome to come in, look at cloths, talk through what you have in mind and leave without ordering anything. Plenty of people do exactly that on a first visit, then come back once they have decided.

What if I am not sure what I want yet?

That is what the appointment is for. Most people arrive with an occasion in mind rather than a finished design, and the conversation works backwards from there. Tell us where the garment is going, how often you expect to wear it and what you already own, and we will narrow the cloth and the cut down with you. You are not expected to know the vocabulary.

What should I bring with me?

Nothing at all is required. Two things help if you have them. Bring a jacket or coat you already like the fit of, because a garment in the room explains more in a minute than a description does in ten. And bring the shoes you expect to wear with the finished piece, since they set the trouser length.

Can you come to me instead?

Yes. We visit clients at home and at work, and we also meet by video call if that is easier. Choose the mobile or online option when you book and tell us roughly where you are. See our mobile and online tailoring for how those appointments run.

How do I change or cancel my appointment?

Use the link in your confirmation email, or call us on 020 7167 3490. Please give us at least 48 hours notice where you can, and we will always try to find a new time that suits you. Things come up, and we would far rather move an appointment than have you miss it.

Do I have to pay anything on the day?

Not for the consultation. If you decide to place an order, we take full payment at that point, which covers your cloth and all the work that follows, and we confirm the order with you in writing. Nothing is ordered or cut until you have said yes. Our terms and conditions of purchase set out the detail.

What does bespoke tailoring cost?

It depends on the garment, the cloth and how it is made, so we would rather give you a real figure than a misleading one. Bring your ideas to the consultation and you will leave knowing what your piece would cost, with no obligation. You can also look through our collections beforehand.
