Our Story
In 2006, Ian Fielding-Calcutt set out to create something different in the world of bespoke tailoring. After a successful career with a premium tailoring brand, Ian realised there was a gap for people who wanted more than traditional tailoring—they wanted luxury with a modern twist. Armed with years of experience and a clear vision, Ian founded Fielding & Nicholson to bring his idea to life.
A chance meeting in the Swiss Alps with entrepreneur Adam Nicholson turned the dream into reality. Together, they built a company that offers not just beautifully tailored clothes but an entirely personal and convenient experience. Their vision was simple: combine the timeless quality of British craftsmanship with the ease and flexibility modern clients need.

What Makes Us Different?
From the start, Fielding & Nicholson set out to do things differently. We build relationships as we make clothes. Every client works with their own tailoring consultant, someone who gets to know their style, preferences, and even those small details that can make all the difference. It’s about making sure every garment feels like it was made just for you—because it is.
British Tailoring at Its Best
We’re proud to support British trade, working closely with the country’s finest cloth merchants, including Scabal, Dormeuil, and Hunt & Winterbotham. Our fabrics are sourced from Huddersfield’s historic mills in Yorkshire, known around the world for their exceptional quality. Every piece we create is cut and finished with precision, ensuring it meets the highest standards of tailoring.
Our Tailoring Process & Partnerships
Tailoring That Fits Your Life
We know life gets busy, so we’ve made the tailoring process as easy as possible. Our mobile service means we can visit you wherever suits you best—your home, your office, or even your studio. We’ll guide you through the process, from choosing fabrics to perfecting the fit, and we’ll deliver your garments personally to ensure they’re just right.
Prefer a traditional fitting? Our Mayfair showroom, located just off Savile Row, is the perfect place to explore fabrics, designs, and styles in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The Savile Row Experience
Our Master Tailor, Raymond, has over 30 years of experience and has worked with a host of high-profile clients, including celebrities and royalty. His attention to detail ensures every piece is crafted to perfection. Whether it’s a sharp business suit, a wedding outfit, or something casual but elegant, you’ll get the full Savile Row experience without ever feeling overwhelmed.
Where We’re Heading
Today, Fielding & Nicholson isn’t just about London. We’ve grown to serve clients across Manchester, Zürich, and New York, with the same personal service no matter where you are. Our team includes experts like Alex Riley, who brings years of menswear experience, and Caroline Andrew, named “one to watch” by Vanity Fair. Together, we’re working to make Fielding & Nicholson the go-to name for bespoke tailoring.
But no matter how far we grow, our mission stays the same: to create clothing that fits your life and your style perfectly, every time.
Commitment to Sustainability
We believe luxury and sustainability should go hand in hand. At Fielding & Nicholson, we’re taking steps to ensure our tailoring practices respect both tradition and the environment.
- Ethical Sourcing: We work with mills that are committed to sustainable practices, ensuring fabrics are responsibly sourced without compromising quality.
- Made to Last: Our bespoke garments are designed for longevity, reducing waste and encouraging mindful consumption.
- Local Craftsmanship: By supporting British mills and artisans, we help reduce the carbon footprint associated with long supply chains.
We’re constantly exploring ways to improve and make luxury tailoring more sustainable.
