We would like to introduce our newest team member, Lewis Calcutt, who will be running the new Cheshire showroom and also happens to be family. Lewis is Ian’s brother in law and we are very excited to have him on board for our return to the Northwest
We want to introduce him properly so we have asked him a few questions about himself, his style and what he will be doing for us here at Fielding & Nicholson so our clients can get to know him a bit better.
Firstly, what will your day-to-day be like in the new showroom?
I love to start each day with a perfect cup of coffee to set me up for the day ahead. Once both of the kids are at school I will have a look at the day’s plan.
So far as I start my new venture as Tailoring Consultant for Fielding & Nicholson I will start by checking on emails and having a look at the day’s appointments. Generally, I feel it is best to call and confirm with each one. Depending on the client I am seeing and what I am seeing them for I will make sure that I have the correct cloth samples on hand for the consultation.
Each day is different and that’s what I like, I love to be out and about making the most of my time but depending on what time I need to be out visiting existing and potential new clients, I’ll take a look at sites such as Linkedin for any potential new clients and referrals.
I like to stay up to date on current styles so I will check out things like Pinterest, style blogs and certain newsletters I am subscribed to. I have now set up a new Instagram account which I will be updating as I go, full of style and insights into the tailoring world – @cheshiresartorialist
On some days I will have fittings and I feel this is a great way to try and gain some extra referrals.
I find the afternoons are a perfect time to make calls and send some emails to try and make future appointments. I will then pre-plan my next day so I am ready to go again.
What is currently the favourite suit you own?
My Favourite suit is a Navy 3-piece, textured slim tailored fit with contrasting grey waistcoat, but I would have to say my favourite style at the moment is a double-breasted finish and I will probably be looking at this for my next piece.
What’s your favourite casual look?
My favourite current none sartorial items of clothing for a winter look is a slim-fit pair of black jeans paired with a check lumberjack-style shirt and a black denim sherpa-lined jacket finished with a pair of boots.
