In 2016 the brand was listed amongst the top ten tailors of the UK. Under his leadership, Fielding and Nicholson Tailoring has garnered a loyal clientele, ranging from business professionals, to celebrities and royalty. Over the years, Ian has honed his expertise, blending traditional tailoring techniques with modern trends to create timeless and elegant pieces.

His dedication to excellence has not only shaped the success of Fielding and Nicholson Tailoring but has also earned him recognition as a respected figure in the tailoring industry. Today, Ian continues to innovate and inspire, driving the brand forward with his vision for uncompromising quality and unparalleled craftsmanship. Ian’s styling draws inspiration from both the fashion world and tailoring tradition. He seeks to emulate such icons as Lee ‘Alexander’ McQueen (who he was lucky enough to meet), Gianni Versace, Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Lauren.

In the tailoring world his influences are the likes of Edward Sexton, Richard Anderson, Timothy Everest, Ozwald Boateng and Katherine Sargent. He trained and blooded current independents such as Caroline Andrew, who he’s proud to see becoming a a great success in her own right. Alongside his tailoring work Ian is a keen supporter of small business owners, coaching and mentoring them to achieve success. Most recently he has been doing pro bono work, building businesses from the world of sport, chauffeuring and photography.

Ian is a great supporter of charity and has raised upwards of £100,000 annually for various charities such as Stonewall, Cancer Research, Macmillan, The Outward Bound Trust, Peter Jones Foundation and many more. Additionally, Ian enjoys supporting causes such as Suited for Success, which helps disadvantaged young people get into work. Fielding & Nicholson provides unused suits, shirts and casuals to the charity. It also collects perfect-condition clients suits to send to the organisation. In 2024 he launched a Podcast called The Dapper Dandy, interviewing clients, celebrities and authors to examine their take on clothing and how this has inspired them.

In 2022 he took on his brother-in-law Lewis Calcutt to oversee UK business operations. Lewis joins Alex Riley who has worked with Ian for over 12 years. Raymond Chung is the Head Cutter with a 15 year tenure consulting for Fielding & Nicholson. He now lives between his homes in Franschhoek, South Africa, London, Spain and Zürich, Switzerland.
