Four ways to wear a linen shirt this summer

We know the summer weather has dipped lately, but we are still expecting another heat wave this summer and during the sticky hot days, there is nothing better than a lightweight, breathable, and comfortable linen shirt.

Here are our top four ways to wear one.

Laid back

Paired with some chino shorts and boat or canvas shoes any pastel-coloured linen shirt would fit right in. A casual look for the weekend that is sophisticated enough for a riverside restaurant but will also see you well down the pub.

It’s an effortlessly stylish look that is versatile and easily changed up with the colour of your shirt perfect for your summer weekend days spent with friends and family

Smart casual

For slightly more formal occasions the line shirt can be dressed up. For example, a crisp navy blue linen shirt paired and tucked into complementary slim-fit cotton trousers (which is also perfect for the heat)  topped off with some loafers and a timeless watch. A perfect balance of dealing with the heat and looking perfectly put together for dinners, garden parties, summer weddings, or events.

Now for when you are on holiday and strolling the beach, relaxing by the pool, or heading out for dinner the linen shirt is just a go-to.

Opt for a style more loose fitting and open collar to give you more ease of movement and holiday vibes, we would also once again recommend sticking to pastels or natural tones.

Easily paired with shorts and sandals or boat shoes, the outfit exudes holiday charm.

Layering sophistication

Although we generally only bring them out in the heat, linen is not just for the hot days, the humble linen shirt can also be used to layer a look giving it versatility and even more style.

You could use it as an over shirt to add a little bit more to your look, for example with a pair of shorts or jeans and a white T-shirt.

This technique allows you to adapt to changing temperatures but maintain your stylish look.

We think the line shirt has much more use than people make out, it can be dressed up or down and if done well keeps you looking great and keeps you at the perfect temperature all summer.
